Useful in measuring density of bones of body in case of Osteopenia and Osteoporosis.
What is Osteoporosis ? : Potentially crippling disease characterized by loss of bone tissue and susceptibility to fracture.
Estimated > 30 % of the women after menopause are having osteopenia or osteoporosis.
BMD DEXA machine Installed in the year of 2007 (First in whole Saurashtra and Kutchh)
This internationally acclaimed WHO approved BMD DEXA method produces highly precisive results as compared to the BMD results with other modalities like X.ray Hand, C T Scan, keeping foot in machine etc. (BMD DEXA is the only WHO approved modality amongst 11 different methods).
The diagnosis of Osteopenia or Osteoporosis is automatically calculated by the computerized machine itself. The examination does not require any prior preparation (Test can be done before or after meal or without full bladder).
The examination requires 15 to 60 minutes on table depending on number of parts to be examined (1 site to 5 sites max).

- Long standing back-pain, joint or bone-pain.
- After menopause in females.
